AFRP §6 + §7
Apply for AFRP compliance.
Two paths into the Atto Font Registry Protocol: managed hosting via the Hosted Registry Service, or invitation-only ratification of a Tier 1 @scope. Self-hosters need neither; see the manifest spec.

Your AHRS onboarding is in progress.
We’ll send a confirmation to the contact email on file with the tracking ID and (where applicable) payment instructions. Atto then computes integrity hashes for every submitted binary, generates the AFRP manifest, runs the full ARCTS suite, and provisions your hosted registry endpoint.
Status updates land at hello@atto.tech. Termination and appeal procedures follow AFRP §7.4.
AFRP §6 · Tier 1 Ratification
Tier 1 @scope grants are not self-serve.
Tier 1 shorthands are reserved for foundational font
infrastructure providers: organizations whose registries are
expected to remain operational, publicly accessible, and
independently maintained indefinitely. Examples on the
current registry: @adobe, @google,
@monotype, @velvetyne.
Express interest below and we'll route your message to the Atto Protocol Authority. Acknowledgement within ten business days; full ratification review within sixty calendar days of a complete submission.
Annual compliance fee
$2,500 / year
Flat fee for every Tier 1 holder. Funds the shorthand-registry compliance monitoring infrastructure (monthly ARCTS, weekly integrity spot-checks, quarterly license audits). Not a revenue instrument.
Five eligibility criteria
- Infrastructure permanence. 5+ years of operational history; institutional backing or endowment; public commitment to long-term stewardship.
- Identity verification. Scope name corresponds to your verified legal or organizational identity. Trademark or WHOIS-verified domain.
- License transparency. Every font served includes machine-readable SPDX metadata.
- Protocol compliance. Registry passes the ARCTS test suite. Report dated within 30 days of submission.
- Code of Conduct. Digitally-signed agreement to the AFRP §6 Code of Conduct.
Don't meet these yet? The path has no permanence requirement, runs on a subscription model, and self-hosted Form C registries need no registration at all.
